Photographs, particularly ones of love and family and connection, appericate in value unlike any other “product” you might invest in. These pieces of art, these moments, these fleeting little moments in time are not like a truck or a phone or a new pair of jeans. These photographs are not renewable. They are not easily replaced. Time is our most precious resource and we have a limited amount of it with no replenishment. Once a photograph is taken, once those moments are documented, saved, there are waiting to be cherished. Every day that passes they become more valuable, more precious. Never again will our children be that young or our pets so lively or our love in such a particular way. People are not with us forever, our animals, our houses, our clothes, all of these moments and memories change and pass. We sit and look at photos of our parents from decades ago and get to know versions of them that we never would have otherwise. Our grandchildren can know our own grandparents, even if they aren’t able to meet them physically. Love is intergenerational, transcending, and ever changing. It is worth capturing, sharing, and preserving.
This isn’t just about taking photos of your faces or your smiling or you laughing. This is about moments, about time, about real emotion. This is about your messy houses and handmade garden boxes and necklaces on aged skin and your favorite cup at your grandparents house from when you were a child and that certain way the light filters in through the back window and that new car that’ll look old in 60 years. This is about what matters. This is about the fleeting forever of family and love.

KB From Tennessee is a traveling photographer focused on musicians, cowboys, and true love. KB travels all over the US for her clients from the West Coast to the towering mountains of the Rockies, to the wide plains, to the rolling wonders of Appalachia, and down to the swamps of the Everglades.
“I’m is inspired by the old photographs of my family caught on film or low resolution digital point ‘n shoot cameras. I only wish we’d had these images caught by someone who knew who we were, who could sense what was important. We could all be included in the photos and not be so focused on getting a good or decent shot, but focused on each other and the moments we were sharing. I never look back at those old set-up, J.C. Penny style photos where we spent the whole morning yelling at each other, rushing to get ready, and crying in-between takes. None of us do. We look back at us covered in mud and laughing on the back porch and bathing the little kids and sitting in the kitchen floor. Real Love and real life matters. It’s what is most beautiful, most precious, most fleeting.” -KB
