We’re too often forced into these tight, uncomfortable boxes of expectations and rules and boundaries. If you live here or listen to this or wear this then it directly represents who you are on a very surface sort of level. With the rise of social media and hashtags and keywords genres of humans seem to be becoming more and more narrow, more hyper focused- the label reigns supreme.
I think it a very unfortunate thing to not only have to tolerate commentary on your capabilites or interested based on your looks or history, but to conform to them. Enjoying the outdoors or bein’ a farm kid doesn’t exclude you from wearing make-up and fixing your hair. We can weld with long nails and cowboys can wear pink. We’ve reached a point on society where stringent rules and expectations are boring.
Let yourself breath. Push your boundaries. Portraiture is worth a lot more than a post or a couple of likes. In twenty years you’ll be thankful you got to know yourself, that you experienced self exploration. This matters. And, I’ll prove it: Let’s Do The Damn Thing.
