roots
I’m an avid hiker and adventure seeker- for better or worse I’m The Traveling Kind. I struggle with this, I always have. I love my home, my dirt, and the work I’m able to do there. But, I always have this urge, this tug in my chest to go, to be somewhere else, for just a little while. So, I get my fix with quick photo trips and road trips. But, eventually my travels and my aspirations will take me from my home for some longer spanses: spending a year on the road, living out West for a few years, and hiking the entire Appalachian trail. I’ll find my way home, come on back, and settle into a nice little life- which will be an adventure all in itself.
More than anything I crave true love. Authentic love. Painful love. Beautiful love. Pure love. Gritty Love. True Love. It’s what holds atoms together; what strings all those star parts in us back to the constellations. True love is my dog sleeping in my lap and hummingbirds drinking from my great grandma’s hand-painted glass feeders and coffee at midnight and the smell of my dad’s aftershave and looking at the Grand Canyon with a boy I’ll never see again. I crave true love and I desire to share true love with everyone around me.

I love love. Cliche as it might be. I want to photograph moments of love- and no, not just happy little incidents like a Hallmark movie. I mean you learning to love yourself, your body, and kids working on cars with their parents and dogs covered, in mud and father’s kissing their parents in a field. Moments that matter because of love. Moments that seem small but contain the magnanimity of the universe.
Most importantly, love is love. I’m an emphatically open artist. Everyone is welcome- any race, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or ability -even the yankee’s are welcome.

UPCOMING TRAVEL
Travel is one of my biggest inspirations. I love coming to people's homes and capturing their real lives and real love. Genuine connection and emotion comes from our shelters- our personal collections of memories and time.
Home for me is a tiny town in Tennessee- but I’ll also feel called to travel, to run, to explore. I love the idea of driving ten hours just to watch the sunset over a particular mountain or to drive past the studio where Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote some records or to soak up the desert sun in the winter. I love to learn, to develop my character and artistry through experience, through knowledge. I would love to travel to you and explore with you. Tennessee will always have my heart, but I was born to run.
